Dark Trap Mixing and Mastering Services

dark trap isn't difficult to mix in the technical sense. it's difficult to mix in the taste sense.
the 808s need weight without washing out the snare. the hi-hats need presence without sounding brittle. the vocal sits in a frequency range that fights with both. a generalist mix engineer will balance those elements correctly on paper and still miss the sound.
because the sound isn't about balance. it's about which elements get to dominate and which ones get out of the way.
the difference shows up in the low end first. dark trap 808s sit under the mix, not on top of it. the snare hits in a different frequency range than the hi-hats. the vocal has room because the drums aren't filling every gap. a generalist engineer will balance these correctly on a spectrum analyzer and still miss the feel.
What to Look For
1. someone who mixes dark trap, not just trap.
the difference is in the low end and the spatial feel. dark trap leaves more room between elements. the mix has to breathe. if their portfolio only shows loud, dense trap, they won't understand the space.
2. someone who masters their own mixes or works with the same engineer on both.
dark trap is built in layers. if the mix and master are treated as separate steps by different people, the translation breaks. the master should know what the mix was going for.
3. someone who can explain what they did in plain words.
not "I used parallel compression on the 808s." what did that compression get you? the answer should be about sound, not technique.
IFEELVOID Mixing and Mastering
mix and master services, $200–500, dark trap and experimental electronic only. the process starts with the track's intention — what it should feel like when it hits a system — and works backward from there.
- stem mixing with revision rounds
- mastering formatted for streaming and download
- turnaround that doesn't kill momentum
the goal is a track that translates without having to explain why.
How to Hire
send your track. send two reference tracks — one you want it to hit like, one you don't want it to sound like. that's enough to start.
if the engineer can't tell the difference between those two references, move on.
Ready to mix? send your track and references to ifeelvoid@proton.me or book through the store.
